The 2018 NY2LA Lone Star Invitational wrapped up Sunday in Dallas Texas at the end of the 1st April Live Period.  With most teams finishing up their weekend with a light schedule on the final day, some talented prospects wrapped their weekend at the opening session of the NY2LA Basketball Association with solid efforts.  Here are some of the standouts from the last day of action.

David Skogman – Ray Allen Select 2019 F
Skogman is an intriguing prospect with great length and skill as a stretch 4.  He was effective versus Yanders Law on Sunday showing a nice touch around the basket.  His footwork and skill were evident in the high post all game.  A true “Stretch 4” look for Skogman to continue to ascend this spring and summer.

Carrington McCaskill – Reach Legends 2019 F
The 6-7 forward was active on Sunday for his loaded Reach Legends Squad.  The high flyer who currently has multiple Division 1 offers played above the rim and was great on the fast break finishing in an up and down game vs AUSA.  McCaskill has improved his skill set to go along with his superior athleticism and it shows in his improved game.

Tristan Pratt – Colorado Force 2019 SG
Pratt was stellar all weekend.  The Northern Colorado verbal commit attacked and scored in the half court and on the break.   He showed an aggressiveness on the offensive end and was able to get anywhere he wanted off the bounce.   He is a complete scorer and is one of the best wings on the NY2LA circuit through the 1st live period.

Donyae McCaskill – Yanders Law 2019 PG
This point guard was unstoppable on Sunday for Yanders Law.  Quick and powerful McCaskill was able to penetrate all day and finished with 30 points in a tough loss vs Ray Allen Select.  He used his quickness to get into the paint all game and showed an ability to finish through contact.  He projects as an impact lead guard at the next level and should be a must watch for Division 1 program in need of a lead guard.

Anthony Washington – Wisconsin Swing 2020 G
The long guard was again terrific continuing his strong play this Spring.  He first caught our eye at the NY2LA Swish and Dish event and has been nothing short of superb for the WI Swing.  A plus athlete Washington uses his quickness and length defensively to create offense and is great at finishing on the break.  He is definitely one to watch in the 2020 class.

Keonte Jones – Wisconsin Shooters 2020 G
Jones was fantastic Sunday for the shooters.  A blur with the ball in his hands he still played under control and showed an ability to run a team.   With his improved stroke added to his offensive game Jones looks to be the next guard out of Madison East to catch the eye of colleges across the country.   He will be one to watch this spring and summer on the NY2LA Basketball Association.

Jermaine Hamlin – Quad City Elite 2019 C
The upside on this post from Illinois is exciting.  With only a few years of high level basketball under his belt Hamlin has the size and hands colleges look for.  Showing an improved post-game all weekend and a desire to compete on the glass, look for Hamlin to be on the rise as more coaches see him play.  His defensive presence was key to Quad City’s strong opening weekend.
