Mequon, WI – The 2019 NY2LA Sports Summer Jam was back in full acton on Friday and showcased a lot of talent on all levels. Here are some players that stood out. 

6’6 2021 Khailieo Terry – All In 17U/16U Gold Gauntlet 
Khailieo Terry was impressive Friday playing with both the 16U and 17U All In Gauntlet teams. He is a big physical forward who plays above the rim and put down some highlight real dunks catching lobs and finishing drop off passes around the rim. Terry did a good job of using his frame to get position and grab rebounds and run the court in transition. 

6’9 2021 Grant Asman - Pack attack 16U 
Grant Asman looks like a high upside prospect for Pack Attack 16U. At 6’9 he was comfortable playing on the perimeter hitting a smooth three coming off a screen and some nice drives to the rim. Defensively he used his size to block and alter shots and ran the floor really well for his size. 

6’5 2021 Kobe Johnson – Phenom University 17U EYBL
Kobe Johnson scored 14 points and handed out 6 assists playing up a grade level with Phenom 17U on Friday. At 6’5 and growing he used his length to bother ball handlers and did a good job of crashing the offensive glass for a couple of put backs. Johnson also showed off his improving jump shot knocking down a couple of threes in the win. 

6’8 2022 Kyle Thomas – Illinois Wolves 15U UAA
Kyle Thomas is a really solid young big man for the IL Wolves 15U team. He scored 14 pts in their win Friday morning finishing strong around the basket including a couple of dunks. Thomas has good feet as he was able to run the floor well and did a decent job of staying in front of smaller guards on the perimeter when caught having to switch defensively. 

6’4 Dayne Armwald – WI Dynasty 17U NY2LA
An undersized forward, Armwald makes up for it with a great motor and toughness around the rim. He was dominant at times on the glass for WI Dynasty finishing with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in their win Friday afternoon. Armwald has good athleticism and uses his strong frame to get great position and out muscle opponents for rebounds. 

6’8 2020 Kobe Williamson – AUSA Hoops Platinum 17U NY2LA
-16 pts vs Wolves UAA in the win 
Kobe Williamson led AUSA Hoops Platinum 17U with 16 points in their tough win over an Illinois Wolves UAA team on Friday. He was able to get his buckets in a variety of ways hitting a couple jumpers and around the rim as part of a really solid front line for AUSA. 

6’8 2020 Carter Gilmore – Phenom University 17U EYBL
Carter Gilmore came out hot for Phenom University in their Win vs AUSA on Friday, hitting 4 of his 5 threes in the first half on his way to 17 pts. He has great mechanics off the catch with a soft touch and also was able to grab defensive rebounds and start the break off the dribble. 

6’3 2020 Kaleim Taylor – All In 17U Gold Gauntlet 
Kaleim Taylor did a good job of balancing scoring and facilitating offensively finishing with 10 pts and 6 assists. He was excellent in pick and roll putting a ton of pressure on the defense as he was able to get to the rim and also made some really nice passes to teammates for dunks and layups. Taylor hit a couple of jumpers and when his shot is falling he is a problem for opponents. 

6’5 2021 Brandin Podziemski – WI RAP 17U NY2LA 
Brandin Podziemski scored 21 points for WI RAP Friday in their win over Full Package, showing off his full offensive game. He is a knock down shooter with a quick release and good range and can also get to the rim off the dribble and finish around the rim. Podziemski has been great all spring and summer in the NY2LA Association and has continued his strong play at Summer Jam. 

6’5 2023 Matas Buzelis – Full Package 14U 
Matas Buzelis was really impressive Friday night for Full Package 14U, scoring 23 points and hitting 5 threes. He has a smooth effortless stroke from deep and also made some passes off the dribble you don’t expect from a 6’5 kid at that age. Buzelis is definitely a prospect to watch closely as he continues to grow and develop.
