The annual fall commitment time is here and this past week plus saw some more talented prospects come off the board including 2020 PG Caleb Love who popped for the ACC last night.  Here’s a quick look at that and more in our news and notes for this past week plus…

D1 COMMITMENTS
North Carolina struck on the trail again last night as 2020 PG Caleb Love of Christian Brothers College (MO) verbally committed to UNC.  

2020 PF Noah Collier of Westtown School (PA) verbally committed to Pittsburgh early last week.

2020 F/C Zach Loveday of Huntington Prep (WV) gave a verbal pledge to Baylor.

Georgia continues to make the in-state prospects a priority and 2020 PF Josh Taylor of Norcross (GA) is the latest to commit to the Bulldogs as he offered up his verbal commitment last week.

Duke struck again on the trail as 2020 F Henry Coleman of the Trinity Episcopal School (VA) gave his verbal pledge to the Blue Devils.  

Auburn struck big on the trail last week as highly regarded 2020 PG Sharife Cooper of McEachern (GA) verbally committed to the Tigers.  

Louisville struck big on the recruiting trail and this time is was at the JUCO level as the top ranked Junior College prospect in the country Jay Scrubb of John Logan College gave his verbal pledge to Coach Mack and the Cardinals.

Northwestern struck on the trail in Michigan as 2020 C Matt Nicholson of Clarkston (MI) verbally committed to the Wildcats. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON NICHOLSON’S COMMITMENT.

UW-Milwaukee struck on the trail in Illinois as 2020 PF Grant Coleman of Mahomet-Seymour (IL) verbally committed to Head Coach Pat Baldwin and the Panthers.  Coach Baldwin struck again this evening as he locked in a verbal pledge from Donovan Newby of Bloom (IL).  

Noah King came off the board as the 2020 G out of Caledonia (MN) gave a verbal pledge to South Dakota State last week.

2020 PG Aquan Smart of Niles North (IL) came off the board with a verbal pledge to East Tennessee State. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON SMART’S COMMITMENT.

One of the bigger steals of the week came when Bradley struck on the trail in Wisconsin by securing a verbal pledge from 2020 F Darius Hannah of Milwaukee Academy of Science (WI).  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ON HANNAH.

The Badgers struck two more times on the trail earlier this week, first in Nebraska with the verbal commitment of 2021 PG Chucky Hepburn of Bellevue West (NE) and next with the verbal pledge from 2021 F Matthew Mors of Yankton (SD).  

2020 F RJ Ogom of Homewood-Flossmoor (IL) came off the board earlier this week as well as he verbally committed to the College of Charleston.  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ON OGOM.

The new staff at Southern Illinois continues to strike on the trail in Wisconsin and the latest is talented 2020 G Dalton Banks of Eau Claire North (WI) who has verbally committed to the Salukis Tuesday.

2020 G Tyree Ihenacho of Prior Lake (MN) came off the board Monday night as the standout verbally committed to North Dakota.

Stanford also struck on the trail this past week as talented 2020 F Brandon Angel of Torrey Pines (CA) popped for the Cardinal earlier this week.

2020 F William Dunn of Quincy (MI) popped for Youngstown State earlier last month.  He’s a talented plus length forward that could be a potential steal big picture wise.  

PROSPECTS BUZZING
One of the bigger stories of the past week was that 2020 G Davonte Davis of Jacksonville (AR) re-opened his recruitment.  Previously verbally pledged to Oklahoma State, Davis is a top 100 prospect nationally back on the board.

2020 PG Adam Miller of Morgan Park (IL) narrowed his list down to six schools.  The standout from Illinois has Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, Illinois, Louisville, and Wake Forest.  CLICK HERE TO READ THE STORY

Former GNBA standout 2020 PG Nimari Burnett of Prolific Prep (CA) is now one of the most coveted prospects in the country for his class.  The talented guard has narrowed his list down to Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas Tech.

Iowa was in to see 2022 PG Tamin Lipsey of Ames (IA) last week.  He also took an unofficial visit to Nebraska this past weekend.  The Cornhuskers have offered.  

UPCOMING PLATFORMS
The NY2LA Sports Futures Camp will return on October 26, 2019 and it’s open to 2021-2023 boys prospects.  For the past decade the NY2LA Sports Futures Camp has been one of the premiere fall platforms in the country both regionally and nationally.  This year’s camp will be held at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin.  For more information CLICK HERE

The NY2LA Sports Generation Next Tip-Off for boys 5th-8th grade teams will tip November 16-17, 2019 in Wisconsin.  Annually one of the top late fall early winter middle school tournaments, it is once again expected to have some of the top teams in the Midwest competing at this time.  For more information CLICK HERE.
