Culver Academies is a college preparatory boarding school located in Culver, Indiana, which is composed of three entities: Culver Military Academy for boys, Culver Girls Academy, and the Culver Summer Schools and Camps. This institution is very unique in the fact it is a national prep school but yet still a member of the IHSAA. Culver is the home of head basketball coach Mark Galloway and his ultra-talented son Trey.
Trey is a 6’4 shooting guard from the class of 2020 that has committed to Indiana University next season. He chose IU over many high-major suitor’s including: Butler, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska and others. As with many players that are the son of a coach, his skill-sets are off the charts. Trey has the ability to knock-down the long range shot, mid-range, take defenders off the dribble, see’s the floor extremely well and just makes other’s around him better.
Mark Galloway has had an extensive background as a head coach in Indiana. In his 18 years of experience, Mark is approaching the 300 win plateau with a career record of 282-140. Before his stint at Culver, Coach Galloway enjoyed success at the largest enrollment school in the state Carmel HS with 5,000 students. In the state tournament, Mark captured 2 sectional titles and with Culver has picked-up a sectional, 2 semi-state and a state title under his belt.
For the season, Trey is averaging 23ppg 5.6rpg 4.9apg and 2.2spg while shooting 52% from the field. Just recently he became the school’s all-time leading scorer "It means a lot," Galloway said. "Going into the game, I didn't even know I was close to it. Just a really cool experience getting to know all the great basketball players at the top of that list that I've known personally. It's really good to be up there with those guys." Trey is a lock for being selected to the Indiana All Star squad that faces Kentucky all stars annually in the summer.
