Just a day after receiving a commitment from Vincent Brady, Air Force and head coach Joe Scott landed another commitment out of Indiana on Wednesday. This commitment came from Jake Heidbreder, a 6’5” senior guard at Floyd Central High School.

The commitment comes after Heidbreder took an unofficial visit to the Colorado Springs campus last weekend. He picked the Falcons over his other scholarship offers from a long list of suitors including Elon, Evansville, Furman, Idaho, Indiana State, Lipscomb, Navy, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, and Vermont. His recruitment continued to soar during the spring and summer after a highly impressive junior season in which he averaged 20 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds per game.

“What I loved about Air Force was the fact I can get a prestigious education, play top level basketball, and be around great successful people while being set up for life,” he mentioned as the reasons for his decision. Prior to his recruitment, Heidbreder did not have Air Force or other service academies on his radar but stated “once I learned about them I felt I could fit in great.”

“I decided to commit now because I was ready with my decision and with a dead (recruiting) period happening until January I didn’t want to wait,” Heidbreder mentioned as why he committed now. When talking about how he fits in with his futures team’s style of play, Heidbreder called it “really well.” He added in, “with focus on passing, shooting, and dribbling and also my teammates because we all want challenges and want to be successful in anything we do.”
