One of the top sophomores in not just Indiana or the Midwest, but the entire nation is Jalen Hooks. The 6’7” forward of Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis has already been drawing college interest nationwide, including from some blue blood programs.

At this point, Hooks already has a few scholarship offers. This summer DePaul became the first program to offer him, since IUPUI and Xavier have also extended an offer to him. Many of the top programs nationwide have shown interest including Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Purdue, Michigan State plus plenty of others.

The sophomore is looking for a few specific things in his future college program. “I want to make sure I get developed, have a great relationship, and get to the next level,” Hooks stated.

Hooks is a part of a strong Crispus Attucks team that also includes Jaylen Carson, Isaiah Stafford, James Smith, among others. Behind Hooks, they have a 6-1 record so far this season. He is currently averaging 11 points per game.

When asked if he models his game after any NBA players, Hooks is looking right at the top, Lebron James he said. “I try to model my game after Lebron because he can do everything.” Right now, Hooks is focused on working on all aspects of his game and “the mental mistakes that come with it.”

Expect plenty of offers to be coming in for Hooks over the next few months.
