While many of the top seniors in the state of Indiana are committed, one that remains available is Shamar Avance. Avance is a 6’1” point guard who attends Lawrence North High School and played with George Hill All Indy this past summer.

Avance is having a tremendous senior season leading Lawrence North to a perfect 7-0 record so far. He is currently averaging 20.4 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game.

The electric point guard picked up his first scholarship offer last March from IUPUI. Since then Miami (OH) and Tennessee-Martin have also added offers for him. As well, Avance has drawn interest from a number of strong mid-major programs including Dayton, La Salle, Richmond, Texas Southern, Tulane, Tulsa, among others.

Two schools that Avance mentioned as recruiting him the hardest right now are Miami ((OH) and Texas Southern. For his future school, the senior is looking for a place that feels like home in addition to being a well-rounded community.

Avance has great quickness and is incredibly difficult to defend with the basketball in his hands. He is a highly skilled playmaker that does a great job attacking the basket. At this time, Avance is looking towards the spring to make his college commitment.
