On Sunday night, Archie Miller and Indiana landed their man when they received a commitment from CJ Gunn. Gunn is a 6’5” junior shooting guard at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis and plays with the Indy Heat program.

Gunn announced his decision on twitter with a video. In the video, Gunn thanked his family, high school and aau coaches, and God. In the video, he said “lastly, I appreciate all the colleges who believed in me and were involved in my recruiting process, sadly I can only choose one…I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Indiana University, go Hoosiers.”

Miller and staff had initially offered Gunn a scholarship last summer in August. Other schools to have extended an offer to him included Alabama A&M, Ball State, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Miami (OH), Valparaiso, Wake Forest, Xavier.

Gunn marks the first commitment for the Hoosiers recruitment class of 2022. The junior is a lengthy and athletic guard. He moves well with the ball attacking the basket and also has a good ability to create his own shot.
