As we move deep into the spring, the last of the 2022 class continue to announce their college commitments. Over the weekend one of the top remaining guards made his college pick. Britain Harris announced his future plans to attend Grand Valley State University.

Harris picked Grand Valley State over his others offers from Cleveland State and St. Francis University plus he had interest from several other division one and two programs. The commitment comes after he was just offered by Grand Valley State at the end of April.

“I picked GVSU because not only did the school fit my style of play but the way they have the school set up for you to succeed academically is great,” was the main reason Harris stated on his decision. There are a few different aspects of the school that Harris likes. These include the campus, basketball facilities, and the possibility of a move to the division one level. Another factor Harris said, “I also like how comfortable it was coming in on an official visit, it felt natural, and it felt like I belong.”

Harris will be joining Grand Valley State after spending a year at Bosco Institute. Before that the 6’3” point guard attended Marquette Catholic High School. This spring he played with 94 Feet Elite. After a 17-11 season for Grand Valley State, Harris seems himself coming in and making an “impact” for them. “I want to come in as a great two-way floor general who puts the ball in the basket when needed, even though I’m a young freshman I want to make my teammates better on the court and off, and most importantly I hope to come in and help us be a winning team.”
