It has been a roller coaster over the past few months for the recruitment of Garwey Dual. Entering April, the 6’6” wing guard of Carmel High School (IN) did not hold a single division one offer. Though he was able to quickly grow into a top one hundred ranked national prospect with double digit offers. As well to the offers and rankings, he was one of thirty-five to be invited to be a part of Team USA U17 training camp.

His recruitment came to a close this week as he made his commitment to Providence College and head coach Ed Cooley.

The commitment comes after the rising senior recently took a visit east to Providence. Cooley and staff had initially offered him in May. Some of the other offers for Dual were Arizona State, Butler, Dayton, DePaul, TCU, VCU, and others.

Tournament after tournament this spring while playing with George Hill All Indy, Dual proved to be an elite two-way player. With his length and quickness, he can defend the ball at a high level. Offensively, he is at his best playing off the dribble. With his long strides and moves he has a tremendous ability to get to the basket and use his size to finish in traffic.
