Championship Sunday created an exciting atmosphere on day 3 of the 2013 Swish ‘N Dish Spring Warm-Up as a win or go home mentality was prevalent game after game.  Junior lead guard Tyler Ulis took that feeling to heart as he delivered some strong performances and helped lead his Meanstreets team in the championship game before falling to the Mac Irvin Fire.  We continue our coverage of this past weekend’s event with part 1 of our day 3 recap…

Esa Ahmad – 2015 – F – All-Ohio Red
6-7 - Shaker Heights HS - Shaker Heights, OH
Ahmad scored 19 points in a loss to St. Louis Eagles in the 16 semifinals. Ahmad helped lead a second half charge and All-Ohio Red nearly pulled out the win thanks to his efforts inside. The sophomore was solid all game, operating down low with good strength and footwork.

Evan Boudreaux – 2015 – F – Team NLP
6-8 – Lake Forest HS – Lake Forest, IL
Boudreaux did what he does best Sunday, cleaning up the glass, and finishing strong around the rim. However the sophomore showed a different dimension, stepping outside and hitting from deep. Boudreaux scored 35 points in two games on Sunday.

Willie Jackson – 2016 – F – All-Ohio Red
6-6 –Garfield Heights HS – Cleveland, OH
Jackson is a special talent, who’s only going to get better with time. All-Ohio Red kept feeding the freshman and with good reason. Jackson used his superior strength and athleticism to power his way to 21 points in a close loss to the Playground Warriors.

Riley LaChance – 2014 – SG – Ray Allen Select
6-1 – Central HS – Brookfield, WI
LaChance was outstanding in a quarterfinal loss to Meanstreets. With the opposition hounding his every step, LaChance picked his spots nicely and shot a high percentage from the field. The junior scored 20 scored points, including a quick 5-point spurt late that nearly gave Ray Allen Select the win.

Tyler Ulis – 2014 – PG – Meanstreets
5-9 – Marian Catholic HS – Matteson, IL
With his team facing a 10-point deficit early in the second half, Ulis proceeded to take over. The junior put Meanstreets on his back with some nice drives, 3-pointers, and assists. Ulis willed Meanstreets to a big run and the victory over Ray Allen Select in the 17U semifinals and scored 21 points. Ulis started taking over in the second half of the 17U title game as well.

Darrell Davis – 2014 – SG – REACH Legends
6-3 - Frederick Douglas HS - Detroit, MI
Davis was solid and consistent all weekend. The junior guard was torching defenses from beyond the arc and added two more double digit scoring games to his resume.

Ethan Happ – 2014 – F – Quad City Elite
6-8 – Rockridge HS – Milan, IL
Happ got off to a slow start, but came on late for Quad City Elite, who nearly vanquished a double-digit deficit in the second half against NLP. The Wisconsin commit scored 19 points in the loss, showing his improved versatility by knocking down deep jumpers and taking his man off the dribble.

Paul White – 2014 – F – Meanstreets
6-8 – Whitney Young HS – Chicago, IL
White had a quiet weekend for the most part, but made arguably the biggest play of the day for his team. Down one late in the game, White made the game-winning basket as Meanstreets edged Ray Allen Select by two. In the 17U title game, White began to assert himself more. The junior scored nine points during the loss to Mac Irvin Fire.

Jevon Carter – 2014 – G – Team NLP
6-2 – Proviso East HS – Maywood, IL
Carter took over the game late against Quad City Elite, getting to the rim and constantly putting pressure on the defense. The junior finished with a game-high 21 points in the win.

Brandon Eckford – 2015 – F – DTA
6-4 – Bay View HS – Milwaukee, WI
Eckford led DTA to a close win over Wisconsin Academy Sunday morning. The sophomore scored 17 points, carving up his defenders inside.

Sam Hauser – 2016 – F – Wisconsin Academy
6-4 – Stevens Point HS – Stevens Point, WI
Hauser’s versatility was on display Sunday against Quad City Elite. The freshman was hitting from deep and taking bigger defenders off the dribble. Hauser scored 17 points in the win.

Zach Horn - 2014 – PG – Wisconsin Blizzard
5-7 – Winneconne HS – Larsen, WI
Horn scored 17 points for the Blizzard in their win over Illinois Rising Stars Sunday morning. Despite his smaller stature, the 5-7 guard was able to get his shot off with ease.

Davis Larson – 2016 – F – Wisconsin Playground Warriors
6-4 – North HS – Sheboygan, WI
Larson scored 20 points a comeback win over All-Ohio Red. Larson was very tough inside throughout, absorbing contact, and finishing at the rim.

Treante Mason – 2016 – SF – Playground Elite
6-2 – Vincent HS – Milwaukee, WI
The high-flying Mason had a couple dunks in transition for Playground Elite on his way to 14 points. The freshman picked his spots well and attacked at the right times.

Kyle Monroe – 2015 – G/F – Wisconsin Blizzard
6-4 – Ashwaubenon HS – Green Bay, WI
Monroe scored from inside and out Sunday against DTA. The sophomore poured in a game-high 22 points with a number of key rebounds and blocks late, but the Blizzard fell in double overtime.

Luwane Pipkins – 2015 – PG – Meanstreets
5-9 – Bogan HS – Chicago, IL
Pipkins was a big reason for Meanstreets’ win over REACH Legends Sunday afternoon. The small, but strong point guard surged his way to a game-high 22 points.

Josh Robinson – 2014 – G – Ramey Basketball
6-3 – St. Mary’s HS – St. Louis, MO
Robinson was dynamic for Ramey in their Sunday morning win over the Wisconsin Starz. The senior scored 22 points attacking the basket and pushing the tempo in transition.

Fred Sims – 2015 – SG – Illinois Elite
6-2 – North Lawndale Prep HS – Bellwood Illinois
Sims could not be contained by the Mac Irvin Fire Sunday night. The junior guard broke down his defender and got to the rim, but also showed a good shooting stroke off the dribble. Sims scored 27 points in the loss.

Shareef Smith – 2015 – PG – Wisconsin Academy
5-9 – Memorial HS – Madison, WI
Smith was terrific late in the game against DTA for the most part. The speedy guard scored a game-high 19 points in a losing effort.

Rickey Spicer – 2016 – G – TP Elite
5-7 – Milwaukee Lutheran HS – Milwaukee, WI
Spicer could not be contained by Playground Elite Sunday afternoon as he put together a big scoring game. The freshman scored 21 points, raining down multiple 3-point shots and pull-up jumpers.

Antonio Williams – 2016 – G – Young and Reckless
5-11 – Farragut HS – Chicago, IL
Williams did his best to keep Young and Reckless close against a talented VCC Ohio Warriors team. The freshman scored 21 points, doing most of his work in transition. Williams showed good control of the ball and change of direction in high speeds.

RECRUITING NOTES
Jevon Carter lists offers from Dartmouth, Kent State, Illinois State, Indiana State, and Mercer with interest coming from Bucknell, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Wichita State, Yale, and Oregon State.

Josh Robinson is getting interest from Minnesota, Tennessee-Tech, and Austin-Peay.

Willie Jackson said Illinois and Iowa have offered, while Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin are interested.
