The second day of the NY2LA Swish 'N Dish brought performances from new faces and familiar names. Here is a look at some of the outstanding players from Day 2...

TOP PERFORMERS

Eli Chua – 6-8 – SF – Inland Empire (CA) - 2015
The surprise of the day and possibly the tournament for me. Chua played at a high level in the two games that I saw him play on Saturday. The 6-foot-8 Chua has guard skills in transition as he handles the ball well and makes good decisions. He's a good athlete as well. He looks like a promising prospect. Chua's only scholarship offer is from California-Northridge.

Derrick Bruce Jr. - 6-3 – G – Inland Empire (CA) – 2015 
Bruce was overshadowed a bit by Chua's play, but Bruce had just as good of day. Bruce is a combo guard with great length. He has a good first step off the dribble. When he uses his quickness to get into the teeth of the defense, he sees the floor and makes good passes. Bruce had 27 points against Meanstreets then he had 23 points against Full Package.

Esa Ahmad – 6-8 – SF – All Ohio Red - 2015
Ahmad started off the day with a strong performance against Chicago Lockdown then he backed it up with a great game against a very talented Wisconsin Playground Elite team in the evening. Ahmad does just about everything on the floor well. He handles the ball like a guard. He does a great job of getting to the basket when bigger guys try to guard him. Then he finishes well when he gets to the rim.  He had 24 points in the All Ohio Red victory over Playground Elite.

Christian Williams – 6-4 – G – Illinois Irish – 2015 
A guard with great size, Williams had a fantastic day. He is a good outside shooter. His shooting ability keeps defenses honest because he is also good off of the dribble. Williams has really nice touch and feel on his shots around the basket. He had 24 points in the Irish win over Inland Empire.

Tarkus Ferguson – 6-3 – G – St. Louis Eagles – 2016 
When you nearly outscore the opponent by yourself, it was a good deal. Tarkus Ferguson nearly did that on Saturday afternoon. He hit 5 three-pointers in the first half alone. He's not just a shooter though. He is a good playmaker off of the dribble.

STOCK BOOSTERS
Mark Falotico – 6-1 – G – Chicago Lockdown (IL) – 2015 
Falotico had a couple of really solid games on Saturday. His best performance was likely when he scored 25 points against Team NLP. Falotico is a combo guard. The lefty has a silky smooth outside shot.

Tyler Hall – 6-3 – SG – Quad City Elite (IL) – 2015 
Hall is a player that has played well all weekend. He has great length for a guard. He shoots it really well. He is a very good passer. Hall scored 26 of Quad City's 48 points in a win Saturday. He didn't even dominate the ball while scoring the majority of the points. That is extremely impressive!

Jaylin Walker – 6-3 – SG – REACH Legends (MI) – 2015 
Walker is definitely a scorer. He was aggressive in both games that I saw him play on Saturday. Walker had his outside shot working at the Swish 'N Dish. He had 23 points in a win over Full Package then 16 points in a loss to Wisconsin Playground Elite.

Brody Egger – 6-1 – PG – Kingdom Hoops Elite (IA) – 2015 
Egger is an extremely tough kid that made smart plays on both Friday and Saturday. He was very good at pulling up in the six to eight foot range, and then shooting a very soft jumper over the help side defense. He and Derek Jones led Kingdom Hoops Elite to a very strong showing this weekend.

STAR WATCH
Henry Ellenson – 6-10 – PF – Wisconsin Playground Elite – 2015 
Ellenson showcased his ball-handling Friday and Saturday. There were multiple times that he went coast to coast after grabbing a rebound. He looks more comfortable handling the ball against pressure than most guards. Ellenson also shoots the ball well from the outside; not just off the catch. He shot it well off the bounce as well.

Matt Heldt – 6-10 – C – Milwaukee Spartans (WI) – 2015 
It seems like Heldt's game improves dramatically each time that I see him. This time he put up 20 points in a victory over the Iowa Barnstormers. Iowa has solid post players with good size, so Heldt was playing against guys his own size. It was an outstanding effort by him.

D.J. Williams – 6-6 – SF – Meanstreets (IL) – 2015 
The Illinois bound guard/forward took off the game for Meanstreets against Inland Empire. He is very smooth off the dribble and in transition. He was not out of control at all while he was scoring in bunches Saturday. Williams is a good shooter, and a good overall athlete.
