Here’s a look at Wednesday’s showcase games in the 16 and 17U divisions.

17U NY2LA SPORTS SUMMER SHOWDOWN GAMES - JULY 20, 2016
Mac Irvin Fire vs. Swaghouse Elite – 5:00 PM – Court 1 – Durango HS

One of the fastest, most athletic teams, Mac Irvin Fire kicks things off from Vegas. Led by a deep, talented core that includes Illinois commit Damonte Williams, Justin Smith, Ayo Dosunmu, and Christian Negron, Mac Irvin Fire is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. They’ll get Swaghouse Elite who has one of the more under-appreciated players in the country Marcus Garrett, a scintillating lead guard with a huge ceiling that already has a large number of high major programs on his recruiting trail.  Mix in a solid supporting cast for Swaghouse Elite and you have the recipe for a solid opening night matchup in Las Vegas.

Stackhouse Elite North vs. Wisconsin Playground Warriors – 6:05 pm – Court 1 – Durango HS
Wisconsin commit Kobe King leads his team into an intriguing opening night matchup with Stackhouse Elite North, who made a deep run at the NY2LA Summer Jam last week. King will meet touted guard Marcus Carr, whose stock is rising after a strong start to July. This game also features a number of sleepers in the 2017 class, including Luke Loewe (Playground Warriors) and James Canlas (Stackhouse Elite).

Las Vegas Prospects vs. Dreamvision – 7:10 PM – Court 1 – Durango HS
One of the hottest, must-see matchups is coming to the NY2LA Summer Showdown. Featuring some of the top talent in Las Vegas and California, this one is a fight for bragging rights between Dreamvision and the Las Vegas Prospects. The Prospects have a strong lineup that includes Troy Brown Jr., O’Shae Brissett, Kwayme Hymes, and Charles O’Bannon. Dreamvision will counter with Donnie Tillman, Evan Battey, and another solid group of prospects.

Cal Supreme vs. Team Loaded VA – 8:15 PM – Court 1- Durango HS
It doesn’t get any better than this is a star-studded matchup. Cal Supreme’s 1-2 punch of Deandre Ayton and Brandon McCoy, both top 15 ranked prospects will be on display for Cal Supreme. Team Loaded is just that…Loaded. The squad from Virginia features touted prospects Mario Haskett, David McCormack, Kiyon Boyd, Aamir Simms, Blake Harris, and others. This is going to be a big time battle between the EYBL and Adidas Uprising on Wednesday.

Oakland Soldiers vs. MBA Hoops Elite – 9:20 PM – Court 1 – Durango HS
Another intriguing EYBL/Adidas Uprising battle pits the Oakland Soldiers against MBA Hoops. Two of the nation’s top guards, Alex Barcello of the Oakland Soldiers, and Nick Weatherspoon of MBA Hoops, should be a terrific matchup. Both teams also feature a ton of size and athleticism that should make this showcase game one to remember.  The Oakland Soldiers also feature a large number of high major 2018 prospects playing up including, but not limited to, forward Taeshon Cherry who just added a Kansas offer last week.  This one should be an excelling night cap to the opening night games in Las Vegas, Nevada.

16U NY2LA SPORTS SUMMER SHOWDOWN GAMES JULY 20, 2016
Wisconsin Playground Warriors vs. George Hill Rising Stars – 5:00 PM – Court 2 – Durango HS

The Wisconsin Playground Warriors shoot the ball as well as any team in the country. Led by Tyler Herro, Jordan McCabe, John Diener, and Keshawn Justice, these four can scorch the nets for 30 minutes. George Hill Rising Stars feature Kevin Easley, who’s one of the best inside-outside wings in the country. He also has some under the radar running mates in the backcourt that are deserving of more attention.

Mac Irvin Fire vs. Team Loaded NC – 6:05 PM – Court 2 – Durango HS
One of the nation’s top sophomores, Kahlil Whitney will be on display in the Summer Showdown for Mac Irvin Fire. His teammates aren’t too shabby either. Talen-Horton Tucker, Bakari Simmons, and Marquis Brown are also future risers in the 2018 class. They’ll have their hands full with Team Loaded NC on Wednesday. Kobe Brown, Andrew Tuazama, Trey Wertz, and Darius McGhee are names that should be better known as well.

Cal Supreme vs. Iowa Barnstormers – 7:10 PM – Court 2 – Durango HS
This intriguing matchup will feature a terrific post battle. Shareef O’Neal, the son of former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal of Cal Supreme will Joey Hauser of the Iowa Barnstormers. Hauser is far from alone on this Barnstormers squad, who won the 16U title at the NY2LA Summer Jam last week. Iowa commit Joe Wieskamp and A.J. Green for a dangerous trio. Cal Supreme also has tons of talent, including Payton Moore and a couple of prospects you’ll see playing major college football in a few years.

Dreamvision vs. SYF Players – 8:15 PM – Court 2 – Durango HS
Dreamvision is coming off an impressive run in the Summer Jam, making the semifinals. Touted point guard Pierre Crockrell is wise beyond his years. J’Raan Brooks is one of the more intriguing big men in the country as well. They’ll get a strong challenge from SYF Players, who had a successful NY2LA Association season thanks to their two stellar guards Chase Adams and Zion Young.

Ramey/Jets United vs. Team Loaded VA – 9:20 PM – Court 2 – Durango HS
Courtney Ramey is already considered one of the nation’s top point guards, but he definitely took a step up last week while leading Ramey/Jets United to the 16U semifinals of the NY2LA Summer Jam. His running mate, Torrence Watson is one of the most athletic wings in the country. Team Loaded will try and match with a strong front court of Aaron Cash, Azubuike Nwankwo, and Maurice Calloo.
