The travel season has returned and with that marks the return of the premier spring warm up event in the Midwest. The 2018 annual NY2LA Sports Swish N’ Dish will once again feature many of the top travel programs and prospects with no shortage of talent on display in this year’s event. Here are some of the top games to watch on opening night in the 15, 16, and 17U divisions.

17U Games to Watch
Wisconsin Swing vs. Illinois Stars – 6:35 PM – Court 2 – Homestead High School
Some of the best hidden talent in Illinois and Wisconsin will square off early in this event. The Stars feature Chris Burnell, Ethan Helwig, Shane O’Mara, and will throw unsigned senior Paul O’Leary into the mix as well. Jake Poetzl, Darryl Brooks, and Cameron Paske are also under the radar prospects for the Swing, who should contend for the NY2LA Association crown in the summer.

Ray Allen Select vs. Chicago Select – 7:40 PM – Court 5 – Homestead High School
One of the top units in the NY2LA Association, all Ray Allen Select does is win. Led by the trio Cole Nau, David Skogman, and Marcus Domask – who could all be on Division 1 rosters in 2019 -- this group competes for titles in just about every tournament they enter. They’ll take on Chicago Select, who has some intriguing under the radar prospects in the Windy City. Led by Myles Baker, Chicago Select is a group that’s been playing together for awhile now and capable of pulling off some upsets this weekend.

Illinois Wolves vs. R.E.A.C.H. Legends – 8:45 PM – Court 3 – Homestead High School
One of the most exciting groups in the NY2LA Association, the R.E.A.C.H. Legends are a big play waiting to happen. The 1-2 punch of Harlond Beverly and Carrington McCaskill can bring crowds to their feet. The Wolves have a touted duo of their own. Perry Cowan and Bryant Brown are both top 10 prospects in the state of Illinois. This gritty, well-coached group will be primed for a title run by the time Sunday rolls around. 

Meanstreets vs. EG10 – 8:45 PM – Court 5 – Homestead High School
Yet another loaded battle on opening night between Nike EYBL and Adidas Gauntlet members. Romeo Weems out of Michigan is a top 50 prospect nationally for Meanstreets. The kids from Chicago also feature one of Illinois’ best in Joseph Yesufu. Noah Smith, Isiah Moore, and Brayton Bailey are all top prospects in the state of Indiana and will take the floor for EG10.  

Mac Irvin Fire vs. Grassroots Sizzle – 8:45 PM – Court 2 – Homestead High School
One great thing about the Swish N’ Dish is matchups you won’t get to see anywhere else. The amount of talent on the floor in this headline matchup is eye-popping. Two of the best 2020 guards in the nation will go head-to-head as Adam Miller of Mac Irvin Fire takes on Jalen Suggs of Grassroots Sizzle. The intriguing individual matchups are endless. The Fire feature high major prospects Kahlil Whitney and Kansas commit Markese Jacobs. Grassroots Sizzle has some of the best young talent in the country in Terry Lockett, Chet Holmgren, and Dain Dainja.

Bradley Beal Elite vs. Quad City Elite - 9:50 PM – Court 3 – Homestead High School
Last summer, D.J. Carton emerged as one of the nation’s best point guards during his play in Milwaukee. He’ll get a huge opportunity to improve his stock even more on Friday. Going head-to-head with Mario McKinney and Moses Moody, two of the top guards in their respective classes, Carton will try and get Quad City Elite what would be a huge victory as Bradley Beal Elite figures to be one of the top teams in the EYBL this season, also featuring a touted front court in Francis Okoro, Terrence Hargrove, and E.J. Liddell, who are considered the top three prospects in Illinois.

All-Ohio Red vs. Milwaukee Spartans-Rebels Elite – 9:50 PM – Court 5 – Homestead High School
Deontay Long has emerged as one of the country’s most explosive scorers. He and the Milwaukee Spartans-Rebels have a chance to make a big statement on opening night. Long will square off with Alonzo Gaffney, a top 25 small forward nationally with offers rolling in from all over the country. The EYBL powerhouse also features seven-footer Abba Lawal, an emerging big man in the class of 2019. 

16U Games to Watch
Phenom University vs. EG10 – 7:40 PM – Court 3 – Homestead High School
The state of Wisconsin’s newest AAU power gets put to the test on opening night. Phenom University is led by five-star G/F Jalen Johnson and a host of high major talent including Desmond Polk, Jamari Sibley, Reece Beekman, and Isaac Lindsey. EG10 has plenty of star power of their own. Paced by Tony Perkins, Julien Hunter, and touted 2021 guard Ronald Johnson, EG10 is also a strong title contender this weekend. 

Illinois Wolves vs. Yanders Law – 7:40 PM – Court 1 – Homestead High School
Yanders Law has some exciting 2021 prospects that should be able to hold their own playing up in 16U. Electric guard Anton Brookshire will prove to be one of the elite players in his class. The Wolves have some strong sleepers that can make a name for themselves this weekend, including Donovan Newby, Brandon Lieb, Jordan Kwiecinski, and Bennett Kwiecinski. 

Mac Irvin Fire vs. R.E.A.C.H. Legends – 7:40 PM – Court 2 – Homestead High School
2020 guard Adam Miller is about to blow up for the Mac Irvin Fire. One of the nation’s fastest rising prospects, Miller has offers from Oregon, UCLA, Kansas, and more, cementing his status as a top 30 prospect nationally. Miller will take on one of the top prospects in Michigan, Tyson Acuff. After bursting onto the scene in last year’s NY2LA Association, Acuff will have a chance to take a big step forward in this matchup.

George Hill G3 Grind vs. All-Ohio Red – 9:50 PM – Court 2 – Homestead High School
A lot of people still don’t know how good this G3 Grind squad is. Last July, they made runs at the NY2LA Summer Jam and Fab 48 championships. Michael Saunders Jr. is the straw that stirs the drink and is getting a lot of high major looks going into the spring to go along with seven scholarship offers. One of the top contenders in 16U, All-Ohio Red has three of the top prospects in the Buckeye State – John Hugley, Devontae Blanton, and Matt Allocco. 

Bradley Beal Elite vs. KL5AIA Elite 2020 – 9:50 PM – Court 1 – Homestead High School
Amani Glosson, Darius Hannah, and Kaleim Taylor, who all play together in high school, now take their talents to the travel circuit. Three emerging prospects in Wisconsin, Glosson, Hannah, and Taylor all have high major/power-five potential. Bradley Beal Elite will counter with Caleb Love, Marcus Fitzgerald, and Lamontay Daugherty, three prospects who all hold Division 1 offers. 

15U Games to Watch
Phenom University vs. EG10 – 8:45 PM – Court 1 – Homestead High School
On display for EG10 will be some of the top up and coming talent in Indiana. Khristian Lander, Colson Montgomery, and Blake Sisley are all among the top of their class in the Hoosier State. The same could be said for Phenom University in Wisconsin. Ben Nau, David Joplin, Kobe Johnson, Tanner Resch, and Cameron Palesse are names to know in the coming years. 

Bradley Beal Elite vs. Illinois Wolves – 9:50 PM – Court 1 – Brookfield Central High School
Some of the top youngsters in the country will be on display in the nightcap. The Illinois Wolves have some potential household names nationally. Anthony Sayles, Max Christie, Conor Enright, Isaiah Barnes, and Chris Hodges have opened eyes early in their careers. Jonathan Dunn, Cole Farrell, Noah Reynolds, Isaiah Donnell, and others look to be promising prospects for Bradley Beal Elite as well. 

All-Ohio Red vs. Milwaukee Spartans – 9:50 PM – Court 4 – Homestead HS
The Spartans have some quality youngsters hungry to make a name for themselves including, but not limited to Logan Landers, Jakobe Thompson, Tyrese Hunter, etc.. Always one of the most consistent and top programs nationally, All-Ohio Red will undoubtedly unfold a strong roster on opening night.
