As we transition into the spring, more and more seniors are making their college commitments. The most recent in the Midwest being Christian Meeks. The 6’6” forward of Homewood-Flossmoor High School (IL) and Team Rose made his commitment to University of Missouri St. Louis.

The commitment comes after Missouri St. Louis had initially offered Meeks a scholarship in January of this year. The Tritons were able to beat out offers from a pair of division one programs. Navy and Tennessee Martin had previously offered the forward.

Meeks announced his commitment on twitter Monday. In his commitment post, the senior wrote “First off, I’d like to thank God for giving me the ability to play basketball at a high level. I’d like to thank Coach Jamere, Coach Condotti, Coach Dave, and Coach Rhymes for helping develop me into the player I am today…With that being said I will be committing to the University of Missouri St. Louis!! Go Tritons!!”

This past season Meeks was named second team 4A all-state by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association as well as player of the year in his conference. He was able to help lead Homewood-Flossmoor to a 21-8 record on the season in addition to winning a regional championship.
