One of the top remaining unsigned prospects in Indiana’s 2023 class made their college commitment. Joey Brown, a 6’6” wing guard of North Central High School and George Hill All Indy, has committed to Ball State and head coach Michael Lewis.

There were several factors that came into play for the senior’s commitment. “It’s important to go where you are wanted and not tolerated,” Brown said about choosing Ball State. “I feel as if the coaching staff made me feel that way. Secondly, the atmosphere of a college town is like no other. Finally, it’s far enough away from home where I get the college experience but also close enough where my family can come watch me play.”

Brown looks for a smooth transition for himself in a Ball State jersey. “I see myself fitting into the style of play quite nice. My length and versatility as a guard I think translates nicely into the offense.”

Ball State is landing a top ten prospect in Indiana’s 2023 class. He has great upside standing at 6’6” with his guard skills and great defensive versatility. It has been a big week for Ball State as not only did they receive a commitment from Brown, but another in-state product. After previously being committed to Valparaiso before a coaching change, 6’9” senior post Zane Doughty has now chosen Ball State as well.
