Friday night of the NY2LA Sports Invitational showcased plenty of great hoops. Here are a few of the standouts from night one. Expect an even better day of hoops tomorrow with a long day of basketball.
Isaiah Allen – 2024 – WG – Chapman Basketball Academy
In the final game of the night, Allen led CBA to a convincing win with 17 points. He shot the ball well from the outside hitting three three pointers but also played well on the attack. The lengthy wing is also a standout on the defensive end being able to matchup with both guards and wings effectively.
Jamarion Batemon – 2025 – G – Power 5
Over the past year the game of Batemon has greatly grown as he had a big performance tonight. He scored 18 points hitting multiple tough threes in addition to a thunderous dunk. He moves extremely well with the ball to create separation and quickly rise up to hit shots right over defenders. He recently picked up an offer from Illinois.
Lamont Hamilton – 2026 – PG – Power 5
In one of the most impressive games of the day Hamilton scored 24 points, in the first half alone of a game. The guard is incredibly quick with the basketball getting all the way to the rim with ease as well to being able to shoot it well off the dribble. Even while scoring at an incredibly high rate, he also made some nice passes and forced a few turnovers with his constant pressure defense.
Anthony Przybilla – 2024 – SF – Milwaukee Trailblazers
The 6’6” wing has been one of the most consistent players this spring. That continued tonight as he scored 22-points in a highly contested game. As well to having some size on the wings, he is a very skilled scorer. He excelled getting to his spots in the mid-range and consistently hitting shots right over defenders in the win. He also came up with a few big plays on the defensive end.
Thian Riak – 2026 – WG – Phenom University
Riak continued his strong spring consistently making a big impact on the court. To open the tournament, Riak scored an efficient 17 points to lead Phenom to a win but also did a bit of everything. He scored it very effectively going to the basket on drives and cuts plus converted on a few big dunks.
