During the spring and summer playing on the NY2LA Association, one of the most dynamic playmaking point guards was Taray Howell. Tournament after tournament, the senior of Evansville Bosse High School continued to lead D1 Indiana to wins.

With his play, Howell has started to see his recruitment heat up with his first couple of offers. Back in July, Marian University offered him. Then last weekend on his visit, Purdue Northwest also offered him.

When talking about his visit to the in-state division two program Purdue Northwest, Howell said “The visit was great with a great atmosphere.” When asked on what he likes about Purdue Northwest, he said “I love the coaching staff and the chemistry they have with the players. Was just a great feeling to be there.”

Back in September, Howell also took a visit to Marian which he also called great. “Great campus, love their team chemistry also. Great coaching staff also.”

While Howell may not have the size, he does have plenty of other tools to his game. He is an incredibly quick point guard that is an electric playmaker with the ball in his hands. The senior is a skilled scorer while playing on the attack with his ability to fly by defenders and get to his spots. While he can get into the paint with ease, Howell also has a very good ability to hit shots off the dribble. He also plays with tremendous energy on the defensive end pressuring the ball. There are few players in the region that can match all his abilities. Even with his pair of offers, Howell has no timetable on a commitment for himself.
